From this hadith, we learn about the gravity of the rights of our parents upon us, the noble status which the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) deserves in our hearts and the importance and value of Ramadan. These acts are such valuable keys to attaining ALLAH’s immense rahmah (compassion) that whoever squanders them becomes deserving of HIS displeasure and wrath.
As believers, we should always have an attitude of gratitude and never squander any of the many opportunities of gaining ALLAH’s pleasure. Just as the Muslim should make the most of the opportunity whilst one or both of his parents are still alive to enter Paradise because of them, and seeking ALLAH’s blessings for our beloved (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) so too we should make the most of the opportunity in Ramadan to repent, seek forgiveness and fear ALLAH so that we might enter Paradise because of that.
